The HAMMER GRIP!

How you choose to "grip" your knife will determine everything that happens afterwards. Your grip is the most important or you will either lose your weapon or be ineffective when you are fortunate to land a blow.

The HAMMER GRIP is the grip that I find the most comfort in because of these priority reasons:

#1. It provides more reach to stretch the blade out further towards an opponent, creating distance, spacing and a longer thrust reach.

#2. I can initiate the strength of my forearms into my wrists when cutting at the angles allowed by this grip. This comes in handy when having to cut through a winter coat or leather jacket.

#3. The blade of knife is never pointed at me while holding it unlike some grips that present the risk of stabbing oneself during moments of undetermined combat chaos.

The HAMMER GRIP is the grip that I have relied on and still do rely on in real, high-risk fights.
