My knowledge & ability to STAY ON MY FEET was the edge that advantaged me to always win dangerous confrontations during my career as a HIGH RISK LEVEL BODYGUARD & BOUNCER! My "Keep It On The Feet" (KTF) theory worked so well in the real world for me that I used it as my primary, core, FIGHT DISCIPLINE in the CAGE of PROFESSIONAL MMA fighting where I dominated world wide with it! KTF additionally has also been the teaching theory of the self-defense & Martial Arts that I have taught to youth & adults of the community for over 25 years.
"KEEP IT ON THE FEET" blocks & deflects strikes, mis-directs grabs, & dismantles takedowns with the enlightened truth that the only people who "have" to go to the ground during a fight, are those who don't know how to "KEEP IT ON THE FEET"!

WHAT "KEEP IT ON THE FEET" IS STANDING FOR!
To have authority over another or others, is to be positioned between them and God as the one that they are to respect, obey, and even trust above themselves. Yes. The people who allow us to hold authority over them choose to place us above themselves with obedience that will even go against their own choices. When we receive or earn authority we shouldn't feel stronger, more important, more accomplished, or better than the ones who we hold authority over. We should feel the weight of responsibility on our shoulders us accompanied by haunted thoughts of betraying the trust of those who we hold authority over by someday screwing up something that they maybe shouldn't have trusted us with. We should fear betraying their trust more than they fear our authority.
As an authority we must always keep ourselves grounded with the the truth that reminds us that the only true reason we have authority over them is because they allow us to. They give us dominance over us as long as we don't cross the line that they silently draw alone in their mind. A line that differs in each and every person that we hold authority over that each of them could someday without warning, spontaneously decide that we have crossed their line. Then they will be free to decide how the are going to react to our transgression without our permission, and without our knowledge. And in that moment, ...they will have the authority.
Whether it is fear, patience, hope, tolerance, comfort, ignorance, or even love, that convinces one human to allow another human to dominance over him or her, may remain a mystery. But we must never be mindless to the fact that we can soon cross their lines of allowance when we continuously confirm to them through our abuse, we do not belong in the position between them and their God. This would be a record failure on our part with the only other worse thing being desires of retribution from all of those who regret ever believing in us. Combined emotions as such will disturb and poison the harmony of mankind with distrust, unhappiness, anger, mistrust, bias, and loss of self- assurance. The mindless mistreatments of an authority can foul the air for everyone, even the innocents. This is why we must view authority over another as a sacred, delicate duty that we are fortunate to handle to the best of our abilities. Because it is our at rest mindset that determines what we will think and do when excited.
KEEP IT ON THE FEET promotes and nurtures de-escalation through confidence and character. The primary duty of law enforcement and security is combat. When violence is introduced, law enforcement and security are EXPECTED to respond IMMEDIATLY and WIN without hesitation or complaint. It is the most important part of the job that can have the biggest influence over many lives in just seconds. And any officer or agent who is not properly trained with confidence supportive skills is going to be nervous, afraid, emotional, inaccurate, hesitant, unbalanced, stressed, egotistical, dishonest and possibly hateful. That's because the officer who can't trust his combat abilities in combat will always be afraid for himself first, during altercations. He would never have the ability to protect anyone else because he would always be looking to protect himself first. He would be in a constantly losing situation that harms and covertly weakens the positions of all that he holds authority over. No human in existence can ever allow his or herself to be a person of this position.
When we honor our position of authority with humbleness, enthusiasm, vigilance, and consideration, the duty becomes different. We view the people under our authority as a missions to be cared for instead of a nuisance to avoid. And when we KNOW we can defend ourselves we no longer are restricted or navigated within the parameters of fear. Our self assurance will blanket us like armor that will allow the comfort of calm which translates into patience, ...which translates into listening, which translates into thinking, which translates into problem solving ideas for all involved instead of just for ourselves. Our confidence in our safety allows us to be comfortable and kind to those who we hold authority over, which allows us to truly connect with, and feel concern for them instead of the urge to dismiss and abandon them as fast as possible. Then through our care our mind opens and we put the energy and heart into the discovery of an outcome that is just as good for that person as we would want it for ourselves. And when we can do this, de-escalation will be a behavior that we never have to think about initiating. Our confidence and selflessness will empower us to help others in creative ways that they never would have thought of instead of the opposite. Ways that will make them happy that they chose to temporarily allow us the respect and trust of God over them. They will be happy to serve us as we serve them as an authority. And it is from this mindset that we initiate the de-escalation that is sincere and consistent, not false and temporary.
KEEP IT ON THE FEET is here to help re-connect the bond between law enforcement/security and citizens. The bond where citizens feel safe and happy to a cop, and a cop feels proud to be seen and grateful to serve. KTF with TRUE defense strategies that will give officers hard core defense abilities when needed and radiating, calm confidence from knowing it.
KTF teaches that de-escalation begins as soon as you realize that you are about to come into contact with another individual. Especially if the contact is going to consist of something that he does not want to be contacted about such as an interview or arrest. KTF teaches officers to consider this possibility and to predict all that could possibly go wrong BEFORE attempting to make an approach. Then KTF teaches officers to position themselves with distance or obstacles where they are totally safe, or at a combat advantage. These protocols nurture self-trust which free the officer to feel comfortable feeling and presenting himself calmly.
KTF initiates preventive measures that #1. discourage trouble making thoughts. #2. position officers out of a subjects range to harm him. #3. positions officer to have the combat advantage in case something does occur
